Filming date August 27, 2023 #Lake Biwa #Underwater footage #Ayu This is underwater footage of Lake Biwa at the end of summer. This is the slightly northern part of Lake Biwa, in the western part of the lake. We found a new point in the Lake Biwa system where ayu and Tanago (bitterling) are abundant. We were able to photograph everything from ayu fish fighting for territory and rubbing their bodies against rocks to eat moss, to a small school of tanago (bitterling) swimming in a canal beside a rice paddy. Also in the photos are a school of juvenile towfin, oikawa, nigoi, kawamutsu, and numa-mutsu. Self-introduction I often go to Lake Biwa and the Kamogawa-Katsura River system. I will upload videos mainly of Japanese fish, including underwater footage of rivers and oceans, and Tanago fishing.
