Me-Made Wardrobe Reset | Skirts & Trousers | What Still Works and What Doesn't
Hello everyone 😊 Today I’m continuing with my little “Do I Still Love It?” wardrobe reset series — and this time I’m tackling my skirts and trousers! In this video I’m going through my handmade skirts and trousers to decide what still works for me, what no longer feels right, what fits well, and which styles I truly enjoy wearing. I’ve been finding this whole process so helpful in understanding my style better, especially when it comes to shape, fit, fabric choices and colour. One thing I’ve really realised during this video is that I find separates much harder than dresses and jumpsuits! I often struggle knowing what tops to wear with skirts and trousers, so I’m hoping next week’s tops and blouses video might help pull everything together a little more 😊 I’d absolutely love to hear your thoughts and styling tips in the comments too! ✨ My conclusions from this video: • I prefer long skirts with flat fronts and very little gathering or pleating around the tummy area • I like skirts either above the knee or properly maxi length • I love soft fabrics with movement and drape • I prefer darker colours on my bottom half • I enjoy wide leg trousers and jeans with fly fronts • I seem to have absolutely no elasticated waist trousers in my wardrobe… which may need to change! Thank you so much for watching and supporting this little series 💕 ——— ⏰ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Introduction 04:10 Skirts 04:39 Tessuti Patterns A-Line Skirt 05:57 Sewaholic Hollyburn Skirt 08:07 Megan Nielsen Brumby Skirt 09:15 Deer and Doe Fumeterre Skirt 14:32 Self-Drafted Skirt 18:13 Sew Over It Xanthe Skirt 19:10 Adaku Parker African Wax Skirt 24:21 Trousers 25:15 Closet Core Sasha Trousers 27:23 Seasons of East Winter in London 28:26 Simplicity K1069 29:50 Wendy Ward Derwent Trousers 30:46 Tilly and the Buttons Safiya Trousers 31:32 Ready-to-Wear Jeans 34:00 True Bias Lander Pants 35:15 Tilly and the Buttons Thea Trousers 38:53 Roundup & Conclusions ——— 📏 My Measurements (for reference) • Height: 5ft 6in • Bust: 37” • Waist: 31” • Hips: 39” ⸻ 🌿 Find me elsewhere Instagram: 👉 / devon.thread.tales Destash account: 👉 / devon.threadtales_destash Ko-fi (if you’d like to support my channel ☕): 👉 https://ko-fi.com/devonthreadtales ⸻ 🧵 About my channel This is a space where I share my sewing journey — from plans and makes, to real-life wear and reflections.
