Mpondwe Secondary School Attack ; 2 Years Later: Key Militants Taken Down

It is now two years since the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) killed over 40 people at Mpondwe Lhubiriha Secondary School in Kasese District. The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) report that no further ADF attacks have been registered along the Kasese border since the tragic incidents that claimed the lives of both students and tourists. According to the Deputy Director of Defence Public Information, Maj. Bilal Katamba, heightened collaboration between the UPDF and local communities has improved security vigilance. This, in turn, has contributed to a boost in cross-border trade between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
