Prince Jammy & Jamdown Players – Levi's Choice (Dubwise) (Ballistic 12" TRIF2/BAD2/BAD3)

Going deep in the dub basket once again for this one with perhaps one of the most obscure dub albums to have been released. The ten tracks were originally released on the B-side of three different Ballistic Records 12" singles. The first release in the series gives the title of this album as "Levi's Choice (Dubwise)" on its label. Levi in this case being George "Levi" Oban who arranged and produced the A-side of that particular disco. Albeit the A-sides of these releases are some criss lovers' rock the actual B-side dubs are all JA productions with Prince Jammy at the mixing board and Bunny Lee as the producer (at least he's credited as the producer on most of the vocal counter parts to these tracks). The Jamdown Players being referenced as the backing band is rather likely just a catch-all name the label used for any backing band on these pieces. Quite certainly these will be The Revolutionaries band or variations thereof. Respect to George Levi Oban who we lost in January of this year and Bunny Lee who we lost two years ago.
