Brian Tichy: Triplets Inside Triplets (A Triplet Avalanche)
Not sure how to exactly explain it but.. if this groove is 6/8, the back beat is on the 4th 1/8 note and the left hand ghosts are the 2nd and 6th 1/8 note. Then you add in a double kick triplet inside each ghost note and the accented 4th 1/8 note, creating a “Triplet Avalanche”!! So, you’re playing a 6/8 groove with off beat- back side- left hand triplets and then adding in 16th note triplets with the double kicks (in my case, I do them LR) and this creates, depending on the listener; either a lovely flurry of broken polyrhythmic speed, or, a complete effing mess, not unlike a 1/2 dozen monkeys throwing the kit down a flight of stairs! 🤪 Drum On! 🥁👍🏼 @LudwigDrumsHQ @PaisteChannel @remopercussion @LPYT LAR TISH STIX @CANOPUSDRUMS snare wire
