AUTO REPAIR: We replace the springs in our 2012 BMW X3 (F25)

I started hearing a metallic clunking sound a few weeks ago, and determined it to be a failed rear spring. While there are many options to repair/replace the springs, shocks, or whole assembly, we're focusing on the spring today (because that's what was in stock, and checkbook approved) The only specialty tool needed was a pass-thru socket.
