Köln 1896 & 1912 koloriert- Kaiserzeit - Cologne pre wwI - imperial era (colorized)

Excerpt from the documentary: Old Cologne in color. 90 minutes of unique original footage from the undestroyed Cologne of the time before the Second World War - for the first time in a colorized version. This excerpt shows us the Hohenzollern Bridge and the Rhine panorama in 1912. This is followed by the old pontoon bridge from Heumarkt to Deutz in 1896, one of the oldest film recordings in existence from old Cologne. For 122 years, the third roll taken by Lumiere cameraman Girel remained unpublished and was thought to be lost until Hermann Rheindorf's research. This is followed by Domplatz in 1912 on the Domplatz and then we move on to Hohe Straße in the look of the imperial era. Also shown in this clip: footage of Cologne's first sports field in Lindenthal in 1912.
