Before reaching the city, a brilliant light from heaven surrounded him, and he fell to the ground. Then he heard the voice of the risen Christ: "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?" Blinded by the encounter, Saul was led into Damascus, where God began transforming the greatest persecutor of the Church into the Apostle Paul.
