In this Travelnautas Lens video, we continue our Canada to Mexico road trip series with Episode 04: a POV dash cam drive from Chesapeake, Virginia to the Back Bay area in Virginia Beach. This was our third and final night at this hotel before continuing the road trip south. The main destination of the day was the Back Bay area in Virginia Beach. We visited a beautiful natural reserve with clean landscapes, dunes, beach access, and peaceful coastal views. It was a different kind of stop compared to the highway drives from the previous days: slower, more natural, and perfect for taking a break from long-distance driving. One of the most important lessons from this stop was parking. Just like the previous day in Virginia Beach, parking payment was not always obvious. Some areas did not have large physical payment machines or clear signs at first glance. Instead, payment was handled online through small QR-code signs. If you visit this area by car, pay attention to the signs, register your plate, and pay digitally to avoid parking tickets. Another practical tip: bring mosquito repellent. In the afternoon, mosquitoes in the reserve area became very intense, so this is definitely something to prepare for if you plan to walk, take photos, or stay near the dunes and beach areas. A curious detail about this location is that the area is close to the Virginia–North Carolina border. If you have enough time and continue walking along the beach, you can eventually cross toward North Carolina on foot. This episode shows another side of a real road trip: not just highways and long drives, but also natural stops, coastal roads, parking rules, local logistics, and the small lessons you only learn by actually being there.
