Deep partisan divide over America's 250th birthday
A new Scripps News/Talker Research poll finds most Americans are excited to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, but views on President Donald Trump’s role in the festivities are sharply divided along party lines. Republicans largely support Trump’s involvement, while many Democrats and independents do not. The poll also found Americans split on the country’s future, with differing views on whether the U.S. has lived up to its founding ideals and what lies ahead over the next 250 years.
