Understanding an artistic reference and figuring out how that reference differs - thematically, aesthetically, literally, metaphorically, symbolically - is such a crucial aspect of deconstructing media and how it transforms over time. But YouTube and corporations have other ideas for humankind and art and, apparently, fair use so screw it, I suppose.
