Duminica a XII-a, Anul A, Teama exorcizată și teama cerută

Twelfth Sunday of the Year A, Mt 10:26-33 Praise be to Jesus Christ! We are on the Twelfth Sunday of the Year A, and we meditate on the text of Mt 10:26-33: Do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing secret that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what I tell you in the ear, preach from the housetops. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of him who can destroy both body and soul in Gehenna. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's knowledge. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid! You are worth more than many sparrows. For whoever will testify for me before men, I will also testify for him before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever will deny me before men, I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven. Let us also ask Jesus, like the Apostles: Lord, “Increase our faith!” (Lk 17:5), so that we can bear witness to Christ and the Gospel! Amen! Questions: 1) Why does Jesus insist on exorcising fear? 2) Who should we fear anyway? 3) What is the role of Hades and Gehenna? 4) What teaching do the birds convey to us? 5) Who defeated the last enemy, which is death? Praise be to Jesus Christ! Blessed Sunday! Peace and goodness! Br. Mihai Afrentoae, CB, OFMConv.
