Gyeongpoho is a unique geographical wonder called a 'lagoon,' where fresh water and the sea meet, creating a pristine ecosystem where both lake and marine life thrive together. The name 'Gyeongpo' means "a lake as clear as a mirror." True to its name, the water surface is so calm and transparent that it beautifully reflects the surrounding scenery. There is also a famous local legend about the "Five Moons" of Gyeongpoho: the moon in the sky, the moon reflected on the lake, the moon on the sea, the moon in your wine glass, and finally, the moon reflected in the eyes of your beloved companion. The circumference of this scenic lake is about 4.3 kilometers, which is the perfect distance to cover during a 30-minute jog.
