(Episode 2: The Stagnant Labyrinth) Prologue — The Breath of Gestral Village♪ I. Longue Prose Française♪ (The Inhale) L'air du village de Gestral ne respirait pas ; il se déposait. Alors que l'Avant-garde franchissait les lourdes portes, l'humidité les enveloppait, épaisse d'un grain crayeux et alcalin qui avait le goût de gesso en poudre et de calcaire écrasé. C'était la saveur d'un atelier d'artiste qui n'avait pas expiré depuis un siècle. Verso fit claquer ses lèvres, avalant la saveur métallique de l'air statique accroché à sa gorge comme du vieux cuivre. Tandis qu'à ses côtés, Monoco ferma simplement les yeux, trouvant un étrange et paisible réconfort dans le parfum familier du bois humide. II. Poesia Antica Italiana♪ (The Exhale) L'aria non spira; giace immota. Polvere di gesso e pietra calcina, un respiro sepolto da un secolo intero. Rame amaro nella gola riarsa, mentre il legno umido culla un muto conforto. III. Whisper♪ (The Held Breath) No breath. Copper and chalk. The studio waits. --- Movement I — The Bazar Exchange♪ The silence of the held breath broke with a low, metallic snap. One by one, the Vanguard nodded toward the frayed edges of Flag 52. The fabric fluttered listlessly against the stagnant Gestral air—a lone marker of survival in a place frozen in gesso. “I swear, this air doesn’t just dry your mouth,” Verso muttered, hand resting on his hilt. “It rots the leather. Every time we step into a Gestral settlement, I leave with wet socks.” Maelle hid a faint smile behind her collar. Ahead, Lune and Sciel exchanged a synchronized glance of exhaustion. Without a word, taking the complaint about damp footwear as their cue, they turned sharply toward the humid labyrinth of the Gestral Bazar. Lune moved through the slurry of dust and shouting merchants, arriving at Berrami’s worn wooden counter. “More pages for the archives,” she said, dropping heavy expedition journals. Dust rose, smelling of old ink and iron. Berrami’s grin twisted warmly. “Ah! Moshi will be thrilled to dissect these landscapes. And—” he leaned in, whispering, “Jujubee is shouting about ‘exciting new information.’ But temper your expectations, Explorer. Gestral secrets often end with a drawn blade.” Lune sighed. In a world fading to dark, even a silly rumor was a thread worth pulling. --- Movement II — L’Avventura Silenziosa♪ Verso e Maelle rimasero immobili, mentre il labirinto inghiottiva le compagne. L’aria calcarea pesava sui loro respiri, finché lei si chinò, sussurrando alla polvere calda: “Anche i miei calzini sudano.” Una risata squarciò l’armatura di Verso, pesante e vera. Il suono brillante attraversò l’aria immobile. Monoco annuì. “Vi lascio alla vostra passeggiata. Vado ad ascoltare la musica.” La sua ombra si dissolse nel polline di gesso. Soli, iniziarono a camminare. Granelli alcalini pungevano i loro colli, foglie secche danzavano nel vento. Lontano, i gridi ritmici del dojo di Golgraportavano odore di pietra frantumata e sudore. Ma per loro, la pressione atmosferica si alzò. Il villaggio non era una minaccia, ma un lusso raro. Un vagare condiviso. Un’avventura silenziosa. --- Movement III — La Lame Suspendue♪ L’air chauffe la peau. Une promesse de secrets. Un murmure de fer. Sciel avance. Blanc nacré, rouge ardent. L’art contre la machine. La rouille n’est pas la ruine. C’est la patine de la survie. Le ciel s’empourpre. Des pierres brisées flottent, figées depuis la Fracture. Sa main frôle la garde. Le monde retient son souffle. L’attente.
