Kisah Kang Asmar Ahli Sholawat Mengobati Istri Kiai Bangsa Jin

This story tells the story of Kang Asmar, a simple 35-year-old village man known only to the villagers as a sholawat (prayer chanter). His life is far from luxurious. He lives in a bamboo hut, wears a dull koko shirt and a simple sarong, living his days as an ordinary person without a degree or any mystical knowledge. One night, Kang Asmar's chanting of sholawat (prayer chanting) is heard throughout the universe. Unbeknownst to him, his sincere recitation of dhikr (recitation of sholawat) attracts the attention of a supernatural Islamic boarding school run by the jinn. He is gently and courteously picked up and taken before a kiai (religious leader) of the jinn, a respected, experienced, and strict adherent of Islamic law. There, Kang Asmar faces a major test. The kiai's wife, Nyai Halimah, has been struck by a supernatural illness that has left half her face black and rotting. Many occult healers have tried, but none have succeeded. Kang Asmar, who feels he is nothing, is asked to try to cure her solely through sholawat (prayer chanting) and prayer. What followed was not just a story of healing, but a lesson in etiquette, sincerity, and the boundaries between two worlds.
