PREPARING Banana SUCKERS FOR PLANTING

To achieve high-quality big banana bunches, selecting of planting material is very important. Selection of the particular variety to plant really depends on the farmer’s choice. However, irrespective of the farmer’s choice, proper preparation of the suckers is key to establishing a good banana plantation which is pest and disease-free. The best sucker to plant should be around 1 ½ ft tall with the young banana leaves still in a spear-like shape (sword sucker).
