Editorial Note and Report Disclaimer This ground report was prepared from Gurdwara Damdama Sahib, Gobind Nagar, Nagraasu, Uttarakhand, with the objective of informing the public about the ongoing dispute involving a group of Nihang Singhs who are currently occupying the gurdwara premises and the reasons being presented by both sides regarding the matter. As part of this report, Auzar TV conducted an exclusive interview with Nihang Singh Jagdeep Singh of Harian Bela, who stated that their actions were motivated by concerns that the gurdwara management committee had failed to uphold Sikh religious traditions and maryada (religious code of conduct) in an appropriate manner. The gurdwara management committee presented a different account. According to committee representatives, the Nihang Singhs had previously been detained by police in Rishikesh and later arrived at the gurdwara premises. The committee stated that accommodation and food were provided to them; however, a dispute subsequently arose. The committee alleges that the group later took control of the gurdwara premises, closed access points, and caused property damage estimated at approximately INR 10–15 lakh. Committee members further stated that repeated requests were made for the group to vacate the premises, but those requests were allegedly not accepted, leading them to seek assistance from the local police administration. Representatives including Baba Sukhdev Singh and Baba Beant Singh (Langar Sewadar) stated that they had made efforts through dialogue and communication with various individuals and organizations to resolve the matter peacefully. They also expressed concerns that such incidents could negatively affect communal harmony between Punjab and Uttarakhand. According to information available at the time of reporting, officials from the local police administration and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) visited the site and attempted to resolve the situation through dialogue and persuasion.
