Wagner - In das Album der Fürstin Metternich (Albumblatt), WWV 94

It's been a while since I last uploaded - I have been travelling, and also recently caught COVID... hopefully I will pick up the pace of weekly uploads soon again! This piece is another episode in the 'Didn't know this composer composed for piano' series. Personally I don't listen to enough Wagner to be able to tell what's particularly Wagnerian about this piece, but it's still a nice piece nonetheless. Thanks for listening! About the work: Wilhelm Richard Wagner (1813-1883) was a German composer, theatre director, polemicist, and conductor who is chiefly known for his operas (or, as some of his mature works were later known, 'music dramas'). This Albumblatt (Album's Leaf) was composed in 1861 and first published in 1871 by E.W. Fritzsch in Leipzig. #piano #classicalmusic #wagner
