Slow Starter Cranking / Scooter Fix / Bendix /PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION UPDATE Tao Tao Evo

Slow cranking on Chinese scooter. Checking the bendix and making sure it is in good condition. I will replace it as soon as possible since it endured some damage by being stuck on the flywheel for one week. Must have overheated many times. UPDATE: Please, always start with the battery. After changing the starter and bendix gear, I still had starting issues. I checked the battery, and turned out my battery charger only gave out 11.5 volts! All this time, even after 'charging' the battery, I have been at below 12 volts. When I switched my charger from 2 AMP to 6 AMP charging, it brought my battery to 13.3 V. The bike starts great. I don't regret replacing the starter and bendix, they were 'tired'. I do regret trusting my charger and the battery charge too much, and not checking the first thing first. Good luck! UPDATE 2: The lithium-ion battery in my scooter stopped working because I was charging it with a regular charger for lead-acid batteries. Be careful, you can damage the battery by doing so. I ordered a charger for Li-Ion battery and will try to save (discharge and recharge) the old battery. I am currently using another Li-Ion battery and the starting system works better than ever.
