Nobelpreis-Vortrag von Anton Zeilinger: Eine Reise durch die wunderbare Welt der Quanten
Anton Zeilinger received the Nobel Prize for his pioneering work in quantum information and his experiments with entangled photons. On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., Nobel laureate in physics Anton Zeilinger will take the audience on a journey through the "wonderful world of quantum physics" in a public lecture at the Audimax of the University of Vienna, explaining what the promising field of quantum physics still holds for the future. 00:00 Welcome by Cornelia Blum, Head of Communications, University of Vienna 01:10 Welcome by Sebastian Schütze, Rector of the University of Vienna 07:55 Welcome by Robin Golser, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, University of Vienna 13:44 Lecture by Nobel Laureate Anton Zeilinger Anton Zeilinger has been a professor at the University of Vienna since 1999, and Professor Emeritus since 2013. He is considered a pioneer in the transmission of quantum information between photons. Over the past decades, Zeilinger has achieved numerous breakthroughs and set transmission records in his field. The list of prestigious prizes and awards bestowed upon the quantum physicist is also long and has now reached its pinnacle with the Nobel Prize in Physics, which he shares with his long-time colleagues Alain Aspect and John Clauser (more about the Nobel Prize in Physics and a review of Nobel Week 2022). Ten days after the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm, Anton Zeilinger was honored by Federal President Van der Bellen with the "Grand Silver Decoration of Honour with Star for Services to the Republic of Austria."
