How Young Entrepreneurs Are Changing Latin America | YLAI at Miami Dade College

Entrepreneurs from across Latin America and the Caribbean gathered at Miami Dade College through the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI), a U.S. Department of State-funded program designed to strengthen leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration. During their month-long experience in Miami, fellows participated in workshops, mentorship opportunities, business placements, and networking activities while developing strategies to grow their businesses and create positive social impact in their home countries. From sustainability and zero-waste solutions to healthy food initiatives, workforce development, content creation, and urban greening, these entrepreneurs are building innovative businesses that address real-world challenges while creating jobs and opportunities throughout the Americas. Miami Dade College served as a host institution, providing specialized workshops on leadership, marketing, artificial intelligence, storytelling, entrepreneurship, and business growth. Fellows highlighted the value of collaboration, community-building, and international partnerships formed throughout the program.
