Join Redhead Cylinder Head and Engine Technology for Part 2 of our in-depth engine check. We're tracking down the mystery of the distinctive rattling noises and also trying to determine the cause of the misfiring. I'll say it right away: we were able to uncover all the problem areas. But it did take some effort. What some of you out there already discovered for yourselves in Part 1, we also had to work on with the car. Long after we'd taken the car off the lot, viewers wrote to us and confirmed what we'd discovered. Oh, if only we could network with all your knowledge :-). No, it wasn't that bad, but it takes time to narrow down the errors. Especially when the sensors and other clues suggest something different than what reality has to offer. Catalytic converter working OK, lambda sensor signals OK, error log OK, endoscopy and assessment OK, and yet our initial suspicion turned out to be one of the errors (only after retracing the original trail). That's how it is in the world of technology. You can talk a lot, but hindsight is 20/20. Proof that nothing just falls into place; it has to be solved nut by nut. After the work has been completed, the customer receives a list of tasks that must be evaluated and dealt with. They then have to decide how they want to approach the next stages. Tackle everything at once or split it into two or even three sections. Anything is possible. That's why we've shared the car and its test history with you, deliberately to avoid glorifying it. That would have been easy; we leave that department to other heroes :-) of the scene. But that's not us. And every mechanic knows that you can always shine with things you've already put together with experience. We want to portray the everyday life of mechanics – even with mundane tasks. But also show how important it is to work through the job for the customer and persevere. There are much easier and faster ways to earn money. You can be sure of that. The customer should ultimately be able to rely on the statements of their workshop. That's why they go to a specialist workshop. A craftsman must have this honor. No one is free from sin. Anyone who claims this for themselves is either lying or never ventures into unknown territory. Just like in real life. But here, too, determination is one of the essential prerequisites for success.
