FUNERAL: Kevin Lemons’ homegoing service Wife Pays Last Tributes Hi, i welcome you back on here Now following the funeral and memorial service of the legend, gospel artist and songwriter, Kevin Lemons, that was held on.January 21st at House of Hope Atlanta, the wife Mrs Lemons is still mourning and grieving the death of the husband Lemons, the Stellar- and Dove-nominated choir director and founder of Higher Calling, died on January 7th at age 44 after collapsing at his Union City home. The funeral began at 1 p.m. at the church, 4650 Flat Shoals Parkway. with Pastor E. Dewey Smith giving opening remarks. The service, was livestreamed, & officiated by Bishop Mark of House of Victory City Church in Forest Park. At the funeral we saw Bishop William Murphy, pastor of Center Church of Atlanta, who delivered a top class eulogy. A public viewing was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m on January 20th at House of Hope with a building full of family friends and fans We all know Lemons was the founder and director of Higher Calling, a 100-plus member choir, which marks its 27th year in gospel music this year. He was raised around gospel music, served as the vocal director for the Netflix film “Come Sunday,” according to an earlier release announcing his death. His father – the late Wilbert Lemons – was the director of the historic Atlanta Masonic Choir, which was founded by Kevin’s grandmother Annie Ruth Lemons. Bishop Hezekiah Walker, in a statement, called Lemon one of the kindest and most humble artists he knew. He further said “His love for God seasoned everything that he did, and his palpable love for people was an extension of that.
