Burt Lancaster- Fever

A little tribute to man with the most distinctive smile in the movies; Burton Stephen Lancaster. I don't know when I first became aware of Burt Lancaster-- I think the first film of his I saw was The Killers, and that was about 2 years ago. However it's really taken me till the last year to fully appreciate his wonderful talent and I've since been hunting down as many of his films as I can find (and afford!) For me Burt is one of the handsomest, liveliest and most fun actors ever. He's got a great physique, beautiful blue eyes, and gorgeous hair. I usually don't go for the all-American boy, or someone with such conventionally desirable looks, or even a blonde, but I make an exception for Burt because he's still got something that sets him apart. He's not the all-American hero in a way; he plays several utterly despicable roles and even his heroes are generally complex and morally questionable. But no matter what he's still charming and entertaining. I don't know much about him personally but I admire his attitude towards the movies and his general politics and if I could have a fantasy dinner party he'd definitely be invited-- I think he's be great fun to talk to. I love films where he's at his craziest and most exuberant like The Rainmaker or The Rose Tattoo but while he's a natural in these types of roles he is still capable of moving and beautifully understated performances, and hopefully when I've explored more of his films I can do a longer and more 'serious' tribute to him. But in the meantime there is this; a simple video to showcase his beautiful face, body, smile and personality. This was intended as a birthday (and centenary) tribute, it'll double as a present to my wonderful subscribers and all my friends for the New Year x thank you all so much and I hope you enjoy this!
