Mississippi River Chain of Rocks Low Water
This is a look at the Chain of Rocks on 10/21/2022. I don't think that there was that damage on the intake tower when I first made a video of them. Could have been a lightning strike. This was one major impediment on the river, a 17 mile chain of rock ledges, located just north of St. Louis, hiding below the surface of the river. The canal, lock and dam 27 along with adding the additional rocks shown here was the engineering solution that would ensure a 9-foot deep channel for commercial traffic from Minneapolis all the way to New Orleans. https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/G...
