EGG TEMPERA FROM START TO FINISH, by Fergus A Ryan
EGG TEMPERA FROM START TO FINISH, by Fergus A Ryan This is a presentation on how I made one of my large egg tempera paintings entitled 'Islanders', from preparing a true gesso panel, to making the egg tempera medium and paint, and the processes by which my large tempera 'Islanders' was painted. In my reference to Andrew Wyeth I mention Howard Pyle (a close friend of the Wyeths and a notable painter) in connection with the renewal of egg tempera painting; I should instead have referred to the influence on Andrew Wyeth of his brother-in-law Peter Hurd.
