The Last Mile | Delivering Public Services in Rural Karnataka | Indus Action

Every day, millions of Indians rely on government services and welfare schemes that can significantly improve their lives. Yet, for many citizens, accessing these services remains a challenge due to complex processes, digital barriers, and fragmented systems. This film follows the journey of a citizen accessing a public service through a GramaOne centre in Karnataka and explores the systems that make such access possible. Through voices from the ground, government stakeholders, and implementation partners, it highlights how Common Service Centres (CSCs)—known as GramaOne centres in Karnataka—serve as a critical bridge between citizens and the state. In partnership with the Directorate of Electronic Delivery of Citizen Services (EDCS), Govt. of Karnataka, Indus Action works to strengthen service delivery systems by identifying citizen challenges, improving processes, and supporting more responsive public systems. The result is a stronger pathway for citizens to access the services and entitlements they are entitled to under the Right to Public Services framework.
