Coey Redd ft Lou Ridley - Waterfalls (TLC cover Live in Nashville)

Coey Redd is an up-and-coming, genre bending country music artist. As a kid, her favorite song was Waterfalls and she brought Lou Ridley, who opened her headlining show at Nashville's famous Basement venue, to join her. She said she and her band were performing this for the first time. While she said she was going to put a touch of country into the song, I think she did a good job of staying true to the original. I don't know if younger listeners know the meaning behind this song. If not, I recommend you look it up. It's a sad song in many respects and hit at a time when AIDS was a death sentence. If you see Coey performing near you, I recommend you grab tickets. It's fun to catch rising stars while they're performing in more modest stages on their way to the big time. I hope you enjoy this tune and look for some of her originals from this show, as well. ‪@Officialcoeyredd‬ ‪@louridley‬
