At first glance, it's a fairly standard elevator, as it doesn't have a large capacity and only operates at a speed of 1 m/s. However, it's the first time I've ever seen a control panel equipped with a dial selector that indicates the cabin's location within the shaft, a model that was common in the 1980s. But this requires a magnetic sensor placed on the cabin and at each level of the shaft. As soon as the sensor passes over the selected level, a magnetic signal is sent to the dial indicating the cabin's position. The geared winch comes from an Italian manufacturer named Caronno Pertusella.
