Student sues principal after suspension for Instagram memes!

A student at Tullahoma High School in Tennessee has sued his principal, as well as the Tullahoma City Schools, for suspending him for posting memes on his Instagram account! The memes made fun of the principal, portraying him in a Japanese maid costume wearing cat ears or being in a relationship with the bird from the Regular Show. The student - who's filed the lawsuit anonymously - says he had a panic attack because of the suspension. He says that he has a history of depression and anxiety, and when the principal suspended him in retaliation for the memes, he was so distraught that he became catatonic because he was so worried that his plans to get into a good college had been ruined. So can a school really suspend a student for posting memes on their Instagram account outside of school? And what does the First Amendment say about all of this and whether the student had a right to make fun of his principal when he was at home? Attorney Kevin Kneupper explains and walks through the lawsuit and the memes. #tullahoma #lawsuit #legaldrama #firstamendment #lawyer #lawtube
