The union leader addresses the controversial reopening of mass removal proceedings by the Supreme Court, warning that reactivating administrative cases that had already been closed seriously undermines legal certainty and the rule of law. Beyond the disciplinary sphere, the lawyer explains the complex financial situation facing the courts after a 3% budget cut. She explained that the Chilean judicial system has become precarious after the enactment of more than 86 laws without allocated funding, forcing the various courts to rely on a deficient policy of substitute judges that prolongs labor and family court trials to timelines similar to healthcare waiting lists. Due to this scenario, which they describe as an unprecedented attack on the autonomy of judges, the Association of Magistrates confirmed the start of international actions before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and the UN rapporteurship in order to formally denounce the State of Chile.
