2019 Columbia Journalism School Graduation Ceremony: Maria Ressa

Maria Ressa, an investigative journalist and CEO of the online publication Rappler in the Philippines, will be presented the 2019 Columbia Journalism Award on Wednesday, May 22. Ressa was recognized by the Journalism School’s faculty “for the depth and quality of her work, as well as her courage and persistence in the field.” The award, established in 1958, is made annually by the faculty to recognize a journalist for outstanding accomplishments and a singular journalistic performance in the public interest.
