Recorded across continents, borders, and landscapes, “Acontecer” is more than a song, it’s a global call to protect the heartbeat of our planet. At the center of the song, written by Dani Lança and Manu Chao, is the powerful phrase: “Mamazonia,” serving as a representation of the Amazon as the “lungs of the Earth” and its vital role of bringing life, breath and protection across the planet. “Acontecer” transforms this message into a chant of awareness sharing the importance of our collective responsibility for the world we all share. The repeated questioning of “Que vai passar” (what will happen) serves as a haunting reminder of the uncertainty and fear surrounding our planet's present and future, however the song offers a glimmer of hope suggesting that love and unity among humans can be a powerful force for change. This song marks the latest chapter in a long creative relationship between Playing For Change and Manu Chao.
