Call for government to be more responsive to service delivery concerns
Governance and public policy expert Dr Lesedi Matlala says authorities need to be more transparent about how they deal with service delivery concerns raised by the community. In his research, Matlala found that complaints about issues such as broken infrastructure, water shortages and failing public services are often logged, but not linked effectively to planning, budgeting or accountability.
