Hello 😊 This is a video tour of Luoyang & Kaifeng, Henan Province, China! Luoyang and Kaifeng, two of China's ancient capitals, have been places I've always wanted to visit! I really wanted to see the Longmen Grottoes, one of China's three major grottoes, and most of all, I wanted to visit Songshan Shaolin Temple. I also wanted to visit Guanlin, the tomb of Guan Yu, a must-see for fans of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. And there's also China's first temple, White Horse Temple. There's so much to see in this city :) Furthermore, it's no exaggeration to say that Kaifeng is the city of Judge Bao Qingtian, as his legacy is so abundant. It was a fun trip that brought back vivid memories of the Bao Qingtian drama I watched as a child. Since it takes about an hour by high-speed rail from Luoyang to Kaifeng, I didn't stay overnight and just explored the area on a day trip. :) I'll briefly outline my 3-night, 4-day Luoyang & Kaifeng itinerary below. Day 1 ✈️ Shanghai Hongqiao Airport - Zhengzhou Airport (approximately 2 hours by plane) Zhengzhou Airport Train Station - Zhengzhou East Station (approximately 16 minutes; 13 CNY) Zhengzhou East Station - Luoyang Longmen Train Station (approximately 36 minutes; 65.5 CNY) : There are direct flights to Luoyang Airport, but our dates didn't work out, so I took a flight and a train. Taking two trains was a bit of a hassle, but the ride wasn't too long, so it was worth it. I really wanted to visit Luoyang, so I looked for various ways to get there, and I'm very satisfied with the outcome! Luoyang Longmen Train Station - Accommodation (Taxi: Approximately 30 minutes; 33 yuan) : I've included information about the accommodation in the video, but I wouldn't recommend it. I admit it's incredibly affordable and good value for money, with rooms available for around 150 yuan. But next time, I'd probably go somewhere else! Dinner: A skewer restaurant in front of the hotel 📍Huayi Yuyai Beef (Luoyang Ancient City Branch) Day 2 Accommodation - Luoyang Bus Terminal (Taxi: approx. 10 minutes; 17 CNY) Luoyang Bus Terminal - Xuchang (Bus: approx. 2 hours; 25 CNY per person) Shaolin Temple entrance ticket: 80 CNY per person Lunch at a temple inside Shaolin Temple: approx. 72 CNY for two Shaolin Temple - Luoyang Bus Terminal (Bus: approx. 2 hours; 25 CNY per person) : I absolutely recommend going to Shaolin Temple!! Since it's famous, I thought it might be a bit too much, but it had a 1,500-year-old feel to it, and there were plenty of historical sights to see. They even had a free Shaolin martial arts performance... It was quite a sight. My only regret was not being able to climb Songshan Mountain!! If I had one more day, I would have visited Songshan, one of the Five Sacred Mountains. It's a shame. Accommodation - Yingtianmen (Taxi: approx. 20 minutes; 20 CNY) Dinner: Skewered Hot Pot for Two, approx. 113 CNY 📍Minghe Chaoyu Niu Sheep (Yingtianmen Branch) : We visited the branch near Yingtianmen, but there seem to be other branches, so check them out! The Tajong Dianping set menu is great value for money :) Luoyi Ancient Town Night Market : The ultimate night market... The sheer number of vendors and people will leave you speechless... You really have to go! Day 3 Accommodation - Baima Temple (Taxi: approx. 25 minutes; 25 CNY) Baimasa Temple: 35 CNY per person : Isn't it amazing that it's China's first temple?! China traditionally practiced Taoism, but Buddhism was introduced from India and seems to have truly spread during the Tang Dynasty. It's not as impressive as the Daci'en Temple in Xi'an or the Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, but it's said to be the first of its kind in China, so it's definitely worth a visit. Baekma Temple - Longmen Grottoes (Taxi: Approximately 30 minutes; 50 yuan) Longmen Grottoes admission: 90 yuan per person : You absolutely must see the Longmen Grottoes!! In fact, you'll probably think this is why you went to Luoyang. The grottoes speak for themselves... I wasn't particularly impressed with them before I visited. I'm not a Buddhist, either. But this is a truly moving and thrilling experience that you have to experience firsthand. If you're traveling between Xi'an and Luoyang, China, I highly recommend this visit! Longmen Grottoes - Guanlin (Taxi: Approximately 20 minutes) Guanlin admission: 40 yuan per person : There's probably no one who doesn't love Guan Yu among the Three Kingdoms fans, right?!! This is the tomb and shrine of Guan Yu, the representative figure of Chinese loyalty and now deified. Although it's not a national 5A-level tourist attraction, it's a must-visit for fans of the Three Kingdoms. :) Day 4 Luoyang Longmen Train Station - Kaifeng North Station (approximately 1 hour by high-speed rail, 60 CNY) Kaifeng North Station - Kaifeng Station (approximately 25 minutes by taxi, 24 CNY) Kaifeng Bus Terminal (with luggage storage service 🧳) Kaifeng Mansion entrance ticket: 6...
