This time, together with Robert Maziarz from the Patria Colbiergiensis Museum, we delve into the secrets of Kołobrzeg's Bauhaus-style jewel of architecture: the building that currently houses the Nicolaus Copernicus High School No. 1. Dr. Marek Muciek, a teacher at the school, whom Robert Maziarz invited to today's program, knows almost everything about this building. Both presenters begin their story with a brief outline of the history of education in Kołobrzeg. The current building is the school's fifth location, and our tour begins as students leave the former school, located in the current City Hall building, and walk through the city streets to the new location. This took place in 1932. We will learn the meaning of the saying "the sheikh's beard is on fire," and perhaps we will also solve the mystery of the organ that once was in the school but disappeared when the Russians had their casino there. It disappeared from the school, but reappeared in... a small church. Is it possible that the chaplain "made a deal" with the Russian commandant? There's no direct evidence of this, but the presenters suggest why this is a possible solution. We'll spot traces of the fighting for the school during World War II. We'll learn why the chimney smoked so strangely and what was found inside it. We'll also learn what a real biology and chemistry lab looked like and what it looks like today. Nevertheless, we'll touch on real history – we'll search for traces of the names of students and teachers who died during World War I. Their names were inscribed on the bricks of one of the walls. Where are they now...? We wouldn't be ourselves if we didn't look where the eye could see. We learned what was burning, what was ignited, and what sweets were eaten ;-) Viewers will also learn what the planet Venus has to do with all this.
