The Katahdin 360 project - Bikepacking & Hiking adventure

Since the death of my father this spring, i've decided to do something significant in his honnor, while ressourcing myself. I've bought a Panorama Katahdin gravel bike (with the colors that reminded me the Colts wine & rhum cigars that he used to smoke in the past) and i planned to bring back the Katahdin to it's natural habitat, the mount Katahdin in Maine. The greatest mountain for the greatest father, kind of a spiritual ritual... With my best adventure buddy Patrick we've bikepacked around the mountain and hiked a part of it (we din't finished because of a mama bear and cubs !) for a total of 221.93 km with 2868 m of elevation gain. We've slept the first night in a lean-to at Nesowadnehunk field campground (Baxter state park) and the second night in a tent at Sandbank stream campground (Katahdin Woods & Water National Monument (KWWNM)). From butter like category 1 Baxter sate park gravel road to almost abandonned category 4 trails in KWWNM, what and epic adventure it was ! This area is absolutely outstanding !
