VISITAMOS LA POBLACIÓN DE TALES, SU CASTILLO Y SUS ANTEPASADOS - TRINCHEREANDO#217

Hello everyone! We're back for another week of "Trenching." This time, we bring you an adventure of pure exploration and historical tracing that has led us to push ourselves to the limit in the municipality of Tales, a spectacular and historically rich corner of the Plana Baixa region in Castellón. 📍 The Historical Setting: The Role of Tales During the Spanish Civil War, this rugged terrain of the Sierra de Espadán became a crucial strategic stronghold. In this episode, we ventured into the mountains with a clear objective: To locate the Republican defensive positions, which fiercely resisted the southward advance. To trace the lines of advance of the legendary 108th Francoist Division, whose units fought hard in this sector of Castellón. Understanding the role Thales played in the context of the conflict helps us appreciate the importance of every stone and every trench that vegetation has tried to devour over the decades. 🥾 The Harsh Reality of Field Exploration We won't lie to you: this exploration has been especially tough. Walking through impenetrable vegetation, climbing ravines under a blazing sun, and navigating areas where the terrain becomes treacherous demands brutal physical stamina. But this is precisely what we want to show you: the real day-to-day life of Trenching. Behind every minute of video are hours and hours dedicated to: Gathering preliminary information: Searching for old maps, war reports, and historical documents to try to locate the exact coordinates. The subsequent fieldwork: Hiking through the mountains with a backpack, knowing that military archaeology in the open field is as exciting as it is unpredictable. 🪵 The driving force behind our work: Our community In this episode, you'll see the most honest side of our research. Finding traces is no easy feat. Sometimes the mountain closes in, the coordinates fail, or the passage of time has erased all traces, and we have to return home empty-handed. Does that discourage us? On the contrary! The mystery of what we haven't found motivates us even more to keep exploring, investigating, and going back again and again. And all this effort is worthwhile thanks to the unwavering support of each and every one of our channel's followers. Your comments, your encouragement, and your passion for history are the true driving force that pushes us to keep climbing mountains. 👋 Until the next adventure! Don't miss this journey to the heart of the Sierra de Espadán. We hope you enjoy the exploration as much as we suffered and enjoyed filming it! We send you all a huge hello! Have a fantastic week and a happy and well-deserved weekend! ☀️🌲 Ready to dig in with us? Hit play, subscribe if you haven't already, and let us know what you thought of this episode's defensive positioning in the comments. At our adventure tourism company, "Espadán Aventuras," we have designed a wide range of itineraries, which we call "The War Routes." In our videos, we undertake a series of explorations in search of vestiges of the Spanish Civil War, passing through the most emblematic locations where events of great military importance took place along the so-called XYZ Line. This Republican defensive line, whose purpose was the absolute defense of Valencia, covered a vast area, stretching from Almenara (Castellón) to Santa Cruz de Moya (Cuenca). It features 14 resistance centers, which we have visited over the years, six of them located in the Alto Palancia region. Our intention is also to promote the rich historical heritage of the Civil War found in the Valencian Community and Teruel. We create exploration videos searching for the remains of trenches, machine gun nests, bunkers, pillboxes, observation posts, and blockhouses. We also showcase known sites where battles took place. We hope you enjoy our videos, and that we can appreciate both nature and our history together. Thank you for watching the video and subscribing to the channel. Best regards!
