Restoring a Vintage Zodiac Watch… with a Hidden Riddle

The Zodiac riddle is now closed. 182 correct solutions were submitted. Thank you all for participating 🍀 This time, I’m restoring a Zodiac Sea Wolf from the 1960s. It’s the same model worn by the main suspect in the movie Zodiac. Interestingly, this wasn’t just a random choice by Hollywood. Police records from the investigation mention that the prime suspect in the Zodiac case wore a Zodiac watch. While it’s not confirmed whether it was specifically a Sea Wolf, it’s a likely match — the Sea Wolf was widely popular in the 1960s and prominently features the crosshair symbol, the same symbol the killer used in his letters. The watch itself was in rough condition. Much of the chrome plating on the bezel and crown had worn away, the case showed heavy signs of use, and the crystal was damaged.
