DESI Galaxy Flight with captions
The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument has made the largest 3D map of the universe to date. Fly millions of galaxies mapped using coordinate data from DESI. Each galaxy represents 200-300 Billion stars. With over 36+ Million galaxies currently mapped DESI is continuing to expand our knowledge of the observable Universe. For best viewing experience: View in 4K quality on full screen mode. For more information on DESI visit: https://www.desi.lbl.gov/ Galaxy images are proxy images. The coordinate locations are accurate. Fiske is one of the largest planetariums in the US, having served CU Boulder & the local community since 1975. We offer a diverse range of fulldome films, live talks, laser and liquid sky shows, as well as public gatherings for astronomical and NASA-related events. We are a proud to help DESI communicate the beauty of our Universe to the world. Follow Fiske Planetarium: Website | https://www.colorado.edu/fiske Instagram | / fiskeplanet Facebook | / teamfiske
