I Tested VR Link… Ethernet, Wireless, Link Cable, Air Link and Steam Link which one wins?

Right, I tested Virtual Desktop, Ethernet Link, Link cable… and even Air / Steam Link to see what actually gives you the best VR experience. On paper, higher bitrate and wired connections should win. In reality? It’s not that simple. At 200 Mbps you get the lowest latency, but you can see the compression. Push bitrate higher and it looks better… but your latency climbs. Even the Link cable at 960 Mbps looks great, but I was still getting the odd stutte and it still doesn’t match a proper DisplayPort headset. So there’s no perfect setup here. You’re basically choosing between latency and image quality. The Overall winner for me is either Virtual Desktop running @ 200MBPS for lower latency but worse picture quality or Virtual Desktop with the AV1 encoder if you can use it! 500MBPS give you less compression but about 14Ms more latency. If you're a pro and dont mind the faff the Ethernet Hack gives you the best image quality and latency, the only thing that looks better is the link cable with ultra high bitrates, which then impacts the performance as it introduces stutters now with the latest updates. If you’ve ever wondered whether Link Cable is actually “ultimate”… this should help 👍 ---------- Buy me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/immrchris Merch store: https://immrchris-shop.fourthwall.com ---------- ImMrChris' gear and recommendations* USB C to Ethernet adaptor: https://amzn.to/4tlHofa Quest 3: https://amzn.to/4sgVCxq Quest Link Cable: US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FY1PLGMK?...
