Skill 8 - Mask removal, replacement and cleaning* In this video I demonstrate how to perform the Mask removal skill and how to clearly demonstrate it for the PADI Divemaster course as well as the IDC / IE with demonstration-quality standards aiming for a score of 5. For the Mask Removal Skill you can only get a 5 when doing it neutrally buoyant if you don't your highest score will be a 4. I point out the important steps within the skill, including proper hand movements, clear communication, and clear demonstration techniques. There are always different ways to demonstrate skills — this is simply the method that works best for me and many of my previous students. I hope it can help other Divemaster and Instructor candidates improve their demonstrations, confidence, and underwater control. Slow and exaggerated movements are key.
