The special edition Mexican national team jerseys being touted by Adidas have another angle. According to Tatiana Bernaldez, a specialist in the textile symbolism of Naupan (Puebla), only the artisans were used, and she claims they received a meager wage of 36 pesos per hour, plus medical insurance that has yet to materialize. The federal Ministry of Culture stated that it cannot intervene because there is a private agreement, unless the artisans request it.
