"The double murder of Marina Okarinska and Laura del Hoyo in Cuenca is one of the most shocking cases in recent Spanish history. On August 6, 2015, these two friends disappeared after going to Marina's ex-boyfriend's house to collect some belongings. What began as a worrying disappearance turned into a nightmare when their bodies were found six days later, partially buried and covered with quicklime near the Huécar River, in the municipality of Palomera." In this video, we review the timeline, context, investigation, and trial of the case: 🔹 Day of disappearance: August 6, 2015, around 5:30 p.m., Marina Okarinska (26) and Laura del Hoyo (24) left together for the home of Marina's ex-boyfriend, Sergio Morate, supposedly to collect some belongings. 🔹 First hours: When they didn't return, their families reported them missing. The police launched a search, paying particular attention to Sergio's circle of acquaintances, as he had also disappeared. Cadena SER 🔹 Discovery of the bodies: On August 12, six days later, a cyclist found the bodies partially buried and covered in quicklime in a wooded area near the Huécar River, confirming the worst possible outcome. 🔹 Investigation and escape: The evidence gathered, such as cable ties and ropes found at Morate's home, pointed to a double murder.
