Odyssey: Silver - Amy Turk

The second movement in a trilogy of pieces titled Odyssey, composed by Amy Turk. This piece was commissioned and performed by The Chroma Harp Duo (Becki Luff and Lucy Nolan). "The pieces explore the properties of 3 precious metals through my synaesthesia and each song tells the story of a character from Greek mythology - with mythical and symbolic links to the corresponding metal. Silver depicts the hunter goddess Artemis with her bow, chasing a deer through a forest under the full moon. When she tracks down her pray she is faced with a choice: to complete the hunt or to spare the deer, who is a mother protecting her fawn."
