SWEDRU HIGH COURT HALTS NPP INTERNAL ELECTION IN AGONA WEST The Agona Swedru High Court has ordered the New Patriotic Party to halt all reorganization and internal elections in the Agona West Constituency until a pending case involving 280 delegates is resolved. Joseph Cobbina reports. The Agona Swedru High Court has put a hold on the NPP’s internal elections in Agona West Constituency. The order follows a case filed by 280 delegates who say they were blocked from voting in the party’s presidential primaries last year. According to the plaintiffs, the delegates were denied voting rights despite an amnesty granted by the national party. They claim their exclusion was linked to allegations of involvement in preaching skits and blouse distribution during the 2024 general election. Dissatisfied, the delegates took the matter to the Agona Swedru High Court for interpretation. The court has now directed the party to suspend all reorganization activities and internal elections in the constituency until the case is fully determined. The ruling means the NPP in Agona West cannot proceed with any internal processes until the court settles the dispute over the status of the 280 delegates. The Counsel for the plaintiffs, Lawyer Simpson speaking with the media after court decision said, the court’s directive means all reorganization activities in Agona West must stop until the case is determined. The Counsel for the defendants Lawyer Michael Atta Dadze speaking with the media said they accept the court’s decision and are preparing for the hearing scheduled for 10th June 2026.
