Our first dance at our wedding :) Portrait version! When Derek first watched Howl’s Moving Castle he was amazed with the scene of Howl and Sophie waltzing in the air since it was so magical. As huge Studio Ghibli fans and to further our enchanted forest/magical theme, it was without hesitation that we would choose “Merry Go Round” as our first dance. We decided to use the live version of the song which has a lot of tempo changes, so we decided to incorporate both the slow waltz and Viennese waltz. We started our first dance at the beginning of the reception to kick off the magical mood. We hope you love it as much as we did. For us it truly was a special moment to remember forever. We never practiced with the dress before, but wow, magic really happened on that day! Fun facts: We trained from Dec 2017-Sept 2019 for this first dance. Derek had zero dance experience prior to this, but we as a team can accomplish anything we set our mind to.
