I regularly use this electric tricycle to transport fertilizer and heavy loads, but it suddenly started making a grinding noise and stopped working. This time, to find the cause, I'll disassemble the wheel area and check the motor and gearbox. At first, I thought the problem was with the motor, but when I actually disassembled it, the motor itself was running fine. The problem was with the parts around the gear connecting the motor and the shaft. The internal connecting parts were broken and in pieces. No wonder it stopped working. The outer gears and motor seemed usable, but it appears that the aluminum-like part that bears the most load had broken. We often transport around 100kg of fertilizer and materials, so the accumulated stress over the years may have been the cause. An important point I learned this time is where to open when it malfunctions. Even opening the motor side doesn't allow access to the gearbox; it's necessary to open the brake disc side on the opposite side. It was a structure that you wouldn't know without actually disassembling it. Also, when removing the disc, be careful not to lose the washer. Losing small parts can cause unnecessary trouble during reassembly. In the latter half, we also introduce precautions for tires during long-term storage. With types like puncture-proof tires, if left parked in the same place for a long time, the contact surface may flatten out. Even just changing the position of the tires occasionally can help prevent rattling. Repairing agricultural machinery and power tools often involves long waiting lists, and labor costs are increasing year by year. Of course, it's important not to force it, but being able to identify the cause yourself is a great help on site. This time, parts needed to be ordered, so the complete repair will be done at a later date. However, now that we know what's broken and where to open it, we'll replace the parts and get it working again next time. If you use a Makita electric tricycle, are interested in repairing agricultural machinery or power tools, or want to use your tools for a long time on site, please refer to this information. 📄 Description(English) In this video, I start repairing my Makita electric three-wheel cart. I use this cart for carrying heavy fertilizer bags and farm materials, but it suddenly stopped moving and started making a grinding noise. To find the cause, I disassemble the wheel area and check the motor and gear box. At first, I thought the problem might be on the motor side. However, after opening it up, the motor itself was still working. The problem was inside the gear connection between the motor and the shaft. A part inside the gear area had broken into pieces. The outer gear and the motor still looked usable, but the part that receives the strongest load had failed. Since I often carry around 100 kg of fertilizer or materials, the long-term stress may have caused the damage. One important thing I learned is where to open the unit. Opening the motor side does not give access to the gear box. To reach the broken part, I had to open the brake disc side. When removing the disc, There are washers inside, so it's important not to lose them. I also talk about tire care during long-term storage. The rear support tires are not air-filled, so if the cart stays in the same position for a long time, the contact surface can become flat. Changing the tire position occasionally can help prevent this. Farm tools and electric equipment can take a long time to repair if sent to a shop, and repair costs also increase. Of course, safety comes first, but being able to identify the problem yourself is very helpful in the field. This time, I need to order the broken part, so the full repair will continue later. But now I know which part failed and where to open the unit. This video is useful for anyone using a Makita electric cart, repairing farm tools, or wanting to keep work equipment running for a long time.
