I Tried Oil Washes for the First Time (Here's What Happened)
Oil washes have been on my list for a long time. Every tutorial makes them look like magic... slap them on, wipe them off, instant grimdark. So before trying them on a client's Cities of Sigmar Cogfort commission, I decided to print a handful of test models and spend the day experimenting. Some things worked. Some things absolutely did not. Hopefully this saves you some time if you're thinking about trying oil washes yourself. The fantastic 3D printed test models in this video are by Bestiarum Miniatures. Check out their work here: https://www.myminifactory.com/users/B... If you've got experience with oil washes, let me know what I should try next. I'm still learning and I'd love to compare notes.
