Holiday Baking 2012: Cream Cheese Spritz

I decided to post a mini baking series to accompany my holiday prep series this year. This first video showcases a Christmas cookie tradition passed down to me by my Grandma. Thanks for watching :) Cream Cheese Spritz   / 11822017743664959   Cream Cheese Spritz Note: Recipe from OrganizedJen's Grandma Makes about 7 dozen cookies 2 ½ cups All Purpose Flour ½ teaspoon Salt ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon 1 cup Unsalted Butter, room temperature 3 oz Cream Cheese, room temperature 1 cup Sugar 1 Egg Yolk, unbeaten 1 teaspoon Vanilla Assorted Toppings (sprinkles, sanding sugar, etc.) Preheat oven to 350 with two racks positioned in the center. Whisk together flour, salt and cinnamon and set aside. Cream together thoroughly the butter and cream cheese using an electric mixer on medium speed. Gradually beat in sugar until fluffy. Add the egg yolk and vanilla and mix on medium speed until incorporated. Add the sifted dry ingredients a little at a time, mixing after each addition on low, until well blended. Fill the cookie press chamber with dough. Place the desired forming plate in the cookie press and close tightly. Mold dough onto slightly greased cookie sheets. Decorate the shaped cookies with sprinkles. Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes, rotating the sheets halfway through. Allow the cookies to cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before moving to cooling racks. Once completely cool, store the cookies in an airtight container.
